Petrus was born on August 18th, 1624 in Heusden.1   Petrus' father was Antonius Gaethofs and his mother was Elisabeth Aerts.  His paternal grandparents were Bartholomeus Gaethofs and Maria Beelen; his maternal grandparents were Petrus Arts and Margaretha Hamel. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Bartholomeus, Jacob, Mathias, Bartholomy, Antonius, Margareta, Maria, Margareta and Maria.  He died at the age of 52 in 1676 in Heusden Zolder.2
