Janet Ruthven

Janet was born in 1771. Janet's father was Gilbert Ruthven and her mother was Janet. She was an only child. She died due to natural causes or old age, asthma, at the age of 84 on April 4th, 1855 in Auchterderran. Her burial was in Auchterderran.¹¹

  The Lady's Mill: A range of building, partly used as a dwelling house and offices was formerly a mill driven by water power.
  Name Book 1854.
  
  The mill of 'Our Lady Marie', situated in the Nethertown, was one of the 'three mills of Dunfermlyng' mentioned in 1374. Its site is well known and continues to retain the name of 'Lady's Mill'.
