Silas was born on October 21st, 1868 in Gawler River, SA.1 Silas' father was Edmund PARHAM and his mother was Mary McMANUS. His paternal grandparents were Edmund PARHAM and Sarah COPIS. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William, Samuel, Joseph, Frederick, Lydia, Adeline, Catherine and Emma. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.-
