Palmer was born on April 21st, 1872 in Adelaide, SA.1 Palmer's father was Palmer OCKENDEN and his mother was Mary Ann Charlotte SWINEY. His paternal grandparents were Palmer OCKENDEN and Emma MARSHALL; his maternal grandparents were William SWINEY and Agnes Mary COLEMAN. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Harry, William, Fanny, Zetta, Florence, Eva, Lilian, Clara and Mary. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 2 in 1874 in VIC. He was buried on January 25th, 1874 in Bendigo Cemetery, Bendigo, VIC.2 3 Death Notes
