John's father was Leonard LOVEGROVE and his mother was Mary CREED. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Eugene, Alfred and Frances.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 85 on August 16th, 1940 in Angaston, SA.²
