Charles was born in 1830 in Sussex, England.1 Charles' father was George COLES and his mother was Harriett PARVEN. He had five brothers and a sister, named George, Thomas, Alfred, Samuel, Jabez and Mary. He was the second oldest of the seven children.General Notes
