Frederick Edward B was born in 1830 in Tasmania, Australia.  Frederick Edward B's father was George Mealing Steele and his mother was Elizabeth Henrietta Foord Bromley.  His paternal grandparents are William STEEL and Caroline. He had a brother and two sisters, named Lawrence George Foord Montmouth, Isabella Marie Louise and Rose Ann De Montford.  He was the oldest of the four children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Frederick Peter, George Mealing, Calena M, Calena Mary and Sarah.
