John was born on May 19th, 1754 in Stalmine, Lancashire, England and his baptism took place on May 19th, 1754. John's father was William Singleton and his mother was Margaret Danson.  His paternal grandparents were James Singleton and Alice Whiteside; his maternal grandparents were George Danson and Ellen Unknown.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 82 on January 6th, 1837 in Preesall, Lancashire, England.
