Thorfinn I was born in 0890 in Orkney Islands, Scotland.  Thorfinn I's father was Earl Elnar Torf Elnar 4th Earl of Orkney and his mother was Unknown.  His paternal grandparents were Earl Rognvald Earl of Norther Mere and Raumsdale  and Groa of Trondherm.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 87 in 0977 in Mound, Scotland.
