Samuel was born on November 26th, 1866 in Leipzig (Leibzig), Bessarabia, Russia (now Ukraine).1   Samuel's father was Christian Leberecht Sprecher and his mother was Anna Justina Hintz (Sprecher).  His paternal grandparents were Friedrich Jon “Fred” Sprecher and Louise “Christine” Gruning (Sprecher) Grunning. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Daniel, Emil, August, Katharina, Magdalena and Paulina.  He was the oldest of the seven children. He had two half-sisters named Emilia and Ottilia.  He died at the age of 87 on April 19th, 1954 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA.  He was buried in Cook County, Illinois, USA.1

Samuel and Wilhelmina were married in a religious & civil ceremony on February 24th, 1886 in Eigenfeld, Hutchinson County, South Dakota, USA.1 


Samuel's second family

Samuel and Christine were married in a religious & civil ceremony on September 5th, 1903 in Eureka, McPherson County, South Dakota, USA.1
