Shoshana was born in 1915 in Hrubieszow Poland.  Shoshana's father is Dov Gertel and her mother is Rivka Schwartzberg.  Her paternal grandparents are Shlomo Gertel and Lea Gertel; her maternal grandparents are Moshe Schwartzberg and Fania Schwartzberg. She had three brothers and a sister, named Shmuel, Yeshayaho, Jacob and Malka.  She died in the Holocaust, Burned in the Synagoge, at the age of 28 in 1943 in Kovel.
