Evelyn was born on January 1st, 1874 in Lucknow Cantonment, India..  Evelyn's father was Thomas Todd and her mother was Louisa Johnstone.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Johnstone and Louisa. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Edward, Sara, Topsy, Daisy and Ester.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  She died due to a medical problem, Cardiac Failure, at the age of 87 on July 7th, 1961 in Johannesburg,SA.
