Ernest was born on September 15th, 1906 in Nuneaton, Warwickshire and his baptism took place on October 17th, 1906 in St.Nicolas Parish Church, Nuneaton, Warwickshire.1  Ernest's father was Frederick CHINNER and his mother was Charlotte PARDINGTON.  His paternal grandparents were Clement CHINNER and Mary Ann DALE; his maternal grandparents were Jonathan PARDINGTON and Harriett <UNKNOWN>. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Frederick, Henry, Rose and Amy.  He was the third oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named James, Sylvia and Mary.
