Francois' father was Thomas Cormier and his mother was Madeleine Marie Girouard. His paternal grandparents were Robert Cormier and Marie Peraud; his maternal grandparents were Francois Girouard and Jeanne Aucoin. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Germain, Pierre, Madeleine, Anne, Alexis, Claire, Marie, Agnes and Jeanne. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died before November 24th, 1733.
