Χρίστος  was born in 1946.  Χρίστος 's father is Μιλτιάδης Χρίστου Γκαρλαούνης and his mother is Γεωργία  Κρικέλα.  His paternal grandfather is Χρίστος  Κωνσταντίνου Γκαρλαούνης  and his paternal grandmother was Κωστάντω Κυτέα. He has three sisters named Ελένη, Γιαννούλα and Μαρία.  He is the youngest of the four children.
