Walter was born in 1587 in Parham, Somerset, , England.1 Walter's father was + William Palmer and his mother was Elizabeth Verney. His paternal grandparents were Sir Thomas Palmer and Catherine Stradling; his maternal grandfather was Henry Verney and his maternal grandmother is Unknown. He had a sister named Ann. He was the younger of the two children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Thomas, Abraham, Walter and Sarah.
