Angharad's father was Maredydd ap Owain and her mother was <Unknown>. Her paternal grandparents were Owain ap Hywel Dda Brenin Deau Cymru and Angharad verch Llewelyn Brenhines Powys. She had two brothers and a sister, named Rhys, Cadwallon and Lleucu. She was the youngest of the four children.

- ANGHARAD VERCH MEREDITH, Princess of Powys, who married, first, Llewelyn ap Sitsyllt, Prince of Powys, in right of his wife, and of North and South Wales, by usurpation; assumed the Sovereignty of Wales about 1013 and died 1021. Anderson says he succeeded Aedan ap Blegorad as Prince of North Wales 1015, then Prince of South Wales, and was slain 1021. She married, second, Confyn ap Gwerystan, a noble of Powys, who became Prince of Powys in right of his wife.
