Bethoc was born in 0984 in Angus, Scotland.¹ Bethoc's father was Malcolm of Scotland II and her mother was Edith de Ossory. Her paternal grandparents were King Kenneth of Scotland II and Princess of Leinster Anleta O'Toole; her maternal grandparents were Sigurd de Ossory and <Unknown>. She had two sisters named Thora Donada and Doda. She was the youngest of the three children. She died at the age of 61 in 1045.¹
