Fortuno was born about 0804.¹ Fortuno's father was King of Pamplona Garcia Iniquez and his mother was Urraca. His paternal grandparents were King Inigo Arista and Iniga Ximena; his maternal grandparents were Sancho of Gascony II and <Unknown>. He had a brother and a sister, named Sancho and Ximene. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died before 0905.²
