Heinrich, known as The Fat, was born about 1051 in Northeim, Hanover, Germany.1   The Fat's father was Count of Rittegau, Duke of Bavaria Otto von Northeim I and his mother was Richenza of Swabia.  His paternal grandparents were Count of Rittegau Benno von Northeim and Eilika; his maternal grandparents were Duke Otto of Swabia II and Egisheim. He had a sister named Ida.  He was the older of the two children.  He died as a war casualty, in battle, on April 10th, 1101 in Bursfelds, Germany.1

They had two daughters named Richensa and Gertrud.
