Hedwiga was born about 0910 in Nordhausen, Saxony, Germany.1   Hedwiga's father was Holy Roman Emperor Henry (The Fowler) of Germany I and her mother was Saint Matilda Of Ringleheim.  Her paternal grandparents were Duke Otto (The Illustrious) Of Saxony I and Hedwige Hathui Edith Of Germany; her maternal grandparents were Count Theudebert of Ringleheim and Ludmilla Ragnhildis of Ringleheim. She had two brothers and a sister, named The Great, Heinrich and Gerberga.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She died on March 14th, 0964 in Aix-le-Chappelle, France.1

Hedwiga and The Great were married on September 14th, 0937 in Mainz Order, Ingelheim, Rhineland, Germany.1   They had five sons and two daughters, named Hugh, Otto, Eudes, Heinrich, Derbert, Beatrice and Emma.
