Dominus was born in Florence, Italy.1   Dominus' father was Lord Otterus di Gherardini of Tuscany and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were Duke Cosmus di Gherardini of Florence and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died in 1078.1
