Eustace was born in 1139 in Roeulx, Hainault.1 Eustace's father was Sire Eustace de Hainault and his mother was Dame Marie de Morlanwelz. His paternal grandparents were Arnulph de Hainault and Beatrix van Ath. He had a sister named Ada. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 47 in June 1186.1 General Notes
