William de Port

William was born in 1122 in Basing, Hampshire, England.¹ William's father was Henry de Port and his mother was Hawise de Basing. His paternal grandparents were Sheriff of Hampshire Hugh de Port and Orence de Basing. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, Hugh and Etheldreda. He was the second youngest of the four children.
