William was born in 1193 in Topcliffe, Yorkshire, England.1 William's father was Lord Henry de Percy and his mother was Isabel de Brus. His paternal grandparents were Joscelin de Louvain and Agnes de Percy. He was an only child. He died at the age of 52 on July 28th, 1245 in Hartlepool, Durhamshire, England.1 General Notes
