Agnes de Arches

Agnes was born about 1086 in Catfoss, Yorkshire, England.¹ Agnes' father was Osbern Giffard and her mother was <Unknown>. Her paternal grandparents were William d'Arques and Beatrice de Bolebec. She had a brother named William. She was the older of the two children. She died after 1164.¹

General Notes
- gift dated 1144-55 to the nuns at Nunkeeling, which establishment she founded, "pro salute anime domini mei Herberti de Sancto Quintino et pro animabus Walteri et Alani filiorum meorum." [Farrer. EYC v.3 p.53].
  
  Agnes is referred to as Alice's mother in a gift made to Nunkeeling by the latter between 1164-1170
