Her paternal grandparents were Mark WALLINGFORD and Sarah Ann APPLEGATE; her maternal grandparents were John W. JOHNSON and Harriet WALLINGFORD. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Basel, James William, John David, Kennus Washington, Walter Savage, Henry, Dudley Tolle, Clarinda Boone and Sarah Elizabeth.
