Buckner Ashby was born on April 15th, 1834 in Mt. Gilead, Mason Co., Kentucky.1 Buckner Ashby's father was Joseph WALLINGFORD and his mother was Amanda MOREHEAD. His paternal grandparents were John WALLINGFORD and Prudence WILLETT. He had three brothers and a sister, named John A., Joel Morehead, Joseph and Katherine. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 82 on March 15th, 1917 in Mason Co., Kentucky.2 General Notes
