William Nely Simmons

William Nely was born on September 29th, 1846 in Terry, Orange, Texas. William Nely's father was Daniel Henry Simmons and his mother was Susanah Jemima Harris. His maternal grandparents were Victor Nely Harris and Nancy Ann Netterville. He had three brothers and nine sisters, named Thomas Henry, Charles Netterville, Daniel Ethen, Ann Sarah, Susannah Jemima (or Martha Rebecca), Martha Rebecca, Rachel Elizabeth, Mary (or Sarah) Jane, Amanda Jane, Susanah Samantha, Henrieta Virginia and Victoria Aurelia. He was the oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 73 on December 16th, 1919 in Terry, Orange, Texas. He was buried on December 17th, 1919 in Terry, Orange, Texas.¹²
