John Plantagenet

John was born in 1316 in Tutbury Castle, Tutbury, Staffordshire, England.¹ John's father was Sir Geoffrey Plantagenet and his mother was Margaret De Mortimer. His maternal grandparents were Hugh de Mortimer and Matilda de Hereford. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Geoffrey, Matilda and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the five children.
