Jacob was born in 1717 in Baltimore, Maryland or England.1  Jacob's father was Pert or Peterle Pirtle and his mother was <Unknown>. He had a brother named Peter.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 55 in 1772 in Berkeley Co., Virginia.1

Jacob and <Unknown> were married in a religious ceremony in 1745 in Baltimore, Maryland.1  They had four sons named George, Michael, Henry and John.
