Marion A. PAYTON 
Marion A. was born on January 6th, 1876 in Indiana.1 Marion A.'s father was John A. PAYTON and his mother was Lucinda Jane JOHNSON. His paternal grandparents were James Franklin PAYTON and Elizabeth RUSH. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Rudy I., Fred Otis, Laura Alice, Etta May and Mary Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 69 on December 22nd, 1945 in Judson, Parke Co., Indiana. He was buried on December 24th, 1945 in Mt. BIOGRAPHY: 1900 census: Farmer in Washington Township. In 1901 bought lot in Judson for 1,800 dollars from John H. Lear.
WWI Draft Registration: Medium height, medium build, bl(ue or ack?) eyes, brown hair; farmer in Judson. 1910 census: Farmer in Greene Township.
Rockville Republican 12-29-1927: “Mrs. Nancy Pratt and son Roy of Bellmore entertained at a Turkey dinner, Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Pratt, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Pratt, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Payton and daughter Mary Margaret, George Shalley and Omar Smith and daughter. "
DEATH: Terre Haute Tribune death notice (12/23/45) - Marion A. Payton, 69years old, died at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at his residence near Judson. He is survivied by the wife, Anna; one daughter, Mary Margaret of Indianapolis; one brother, Fred Payton, of Rockville; two sisters, Mrs. Lary Burkes, of Gary, and Mrs. Ella Williams of Crawfordsville; one half brother, Raymond Payton; and one half sister, Mrs. Harold Payton, both of Rockville. The body was taken to the Barnes Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held a t 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Rev. Raymond Skelton will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
