Thomas was born in 1620 in Willhagen, England.1   Thomas' father was John Newman and his mother was Elizabeth Martin.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 80 in 1700 in Richmond, Virginia.1

Thomas and Elizabeth were married in 1635 in Virginia.2   They had a son and five daughters, named Thomas, Ann, Patience, Mary, Sarah and Frances.
