Henry J. was born in 1828. Henry J.'s father was Nelson NORMAN and his mother was Polley OAKES. His paternal grandparents were William NORMAN Sr. and Elizabeth LANE. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Burwell, James B., Courtney W., Sallie G. and Louisa. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 43 in February 1871 in Henry Co., VA..General Notes
Enlisted C.S.A. at Cascade, Va. 3/10/1862.
