John was born in 1760 in Accomac, Virginia.1   John's father was Nathaniel Milby and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were Peter Milby and Mary.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 65 in 1825.1 

John's family with Catherine (Caty) Larimore

John and Caty were married in a religious ceremony in 1790.  They had a son and a daughter, named James and Harriet.
