Geoffrey was born about 1280 in Masham, Yorkshire, England.1   Geoffrey's father was William Le Scrope and his mother was Constance de Newsom.  His paternal grandparents were William Le Scrope and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Thomas de Newsom and <Unknown>. He had a sister named Constance.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died in December 1340 in Coiverham Abbey, Ghent, Yorkshire, England.1
