Gideon Houk

Gideon was born on June 15th, 1824 in Green Co., Kentucky.¹ Gideon's father was George Houk and his mother was Susannah Harper. His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Houck and Sarah Sally Mauser; his maternal grandparents were John Harper and Christine. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Mansfield, William, Miles, John, Houk, Susan and Jane. He was the youngest of the eight children.
