Alexander Forbes 
Alexander was born about 1572 in Corse, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Alexander's father was William Forbes and his mother was Elizabeth Strachan. His paternal grandparents were Patrick Forbes and Marjory Lumsden. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William, John, Arthur, James, Robert, Margaret, Agnes, Jane, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.-
