Elizabeth was born about 1715 in Virginia.1   Elizabeth's father was Henry Downes and her mother was Jane.  She was an only child.

Elizabeth's family with Edward Watts

Elizabeth and Edward were married in a religious ceremony on September 14th, 1737 in Virginia.1   They had three sons and six daughters, named John, WIlliam, Benjamin, Anne, Elizabeth, Mary, Mildred, Sarah and Nancy.
