Fulk, known as The Rude, was born in 1033 in Anjou, France.1  The Rude's father was Geoffrey Martel of Gatinois II and his mother was Ermengarde (Blanche) D'Anjou.  His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey of Gatinais I and Beatrice Macon; his maternal grandparents were Count Fulk (The Black) D'Anjou III and Hildegard de Lorraine. He had a brother named Geoffrey.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 76 on April 14th, 1109 in Anjou, France.2

They had three sons and a daughter, named Ivo, Martel, The Young and Ermengarde.


The Rude's second family with Hildegarde de Beaugency

They had a daughter named Ermengarde.
