Effie Jean's father was Albert Lyde Cary and her mother was Mai B. 'Minnie' Edwards. Her paternal grandparents were James Benjamin Cary and Eliza Ann Kirksey. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Clifton D., Lidde O., James Bendell, Bevie L. and Evie.General Notes
