Pietro was born about 0940 in Venezia, Tuscania.1   Pietro's father was Doge of Venice Pietro Candiano III and his mother was Arceilda di Venezia.  His paternal grandparents were Pietro Candiano II and <Unknown>. He had a brother named Vitale.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died due to murder / assassination in 0976 in Venezia, Tuscania.1
