James COURTENAY

James was born about 1531. James' father was William COURTENAY and his mother was Mary GAINSFORD. His paternal grandparents were William COURTENAY and Cecily CHENEY. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Philip, John, Thomas, Gertrude, Katherine and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had five half-brothers named George, Peter, Henry, Nicholas and Anthony.
