Francis Bigod 
Francis was born on October 4th, 1507 in Seaton How, Yorkshire, England.1 Francis' father was John Bigod of Settrington and his mother was Joan Strangeways dau of Sir James Strangeways. His paternal grandparents were Ralph Bigod of Settrington and Margery Constable dau of Robert Constable of Flamborough; his maternal grandparents were James Strangeways [Sir] and Alice Le Scrope. He was an only child. He died at the age of 29 on June 2nd, 1537 in Tyburn, Warwickshire, England.1 General Notes

Religion: led uprising against Henry VIII for dissolution of Chuches and abbeys.
Note: The manor was held by the Bigod family from the 1200's to 1537 when Sir Francis Bigod was executed for high treason for taking part in the Pilgrimage of Grace. This was when Northern men, ledby Robert Aske, marched to London to demand the restoration of the monasteries and a return to Roman Catholicism. 3
