Lafayette was born on August 25th, 1824. Lafayette's father was John J. BROWNING and his mother was Kitty (Kitty). His paternal grandparents were William Lloyd BROWNING Sr. and Milly (Milly). He had a brother and a sister, named Richard Henry Lee and Eliza Jane. He died at the age of 84 on April 5th, 1909 in Amissville, Rappahannock Co., VA.. C.S.A. Company B, Mosby's Regiment, Virginia Cavalry (Partisan Rangers). Enlisted for war with company B of the 43rd Battalion on November 15, 1863 by William R. Smith in Fauquier County. Captured on May 19, 1864 in Fauquier County and sent to Vienna, on May 22, 1864 he was sent to Old Capitol Prison. Transfered to Fort Delaware on June 15, 1864. Took the oath at Fort Delaware on June 14, 1865. Description: 5'10", ruddy complexion, light hair, blue eyes. Resided in Rappahannock County. His wife Susan Browning
