Mary was born in May 1903 in Coffee Co, TN.  Mary's father was William Anderson Simmons and her mother was Sarah Samatha Cole.  Her paternal grandparents were William Simmons and Susannah E. Adair. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Marion A., James William, Marion Wiley, Henry Joe, Grover Cleveland 'Cleve', Sylvester, Mance, Herman, Maggie, Alice and Clarinda E. 'Clara'.  She was the youngest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 99 in 2002 in AL.
