Mary Amanda was born on April 11th, 1885 in Stem, Granville Co, NC.1   Mary Amanda's father was William Therophilis Roberts and her mother was Sally Rowland Forsyth.  Her paternal grandparents were McKinsey Patterson Roberts and Rebecca Jones. She had five brothers and six sisters, named John Lucius, Ulysses Merriman, Henry Thomas, Doctor Mcclun 'Mack C.', Victor Caravan, Flora Daisy, Ester Frances, Lillie Myrtle, Naomi Wise, Malah Lee and Pearl May.  She was the sixth oldest of the twelve children.  She died  due to Cerebral Hemmorhage at the age of 61 on August 26th, 1946 in Tally Ho, Granville Co, NC.  She was buried on August 27th, 1946 in Hopkins Cemetery, Stem, Granville Co, NC.1
