Robert was born in May 1913 in TN.  Robert's father was William Washington Parish and his mother was Mary Sue Duncan.  His paternal grandparents were George Washington Parish and Mary Elizabeth Wallace. He had a brother named George S..  He was the younger of the two children. He had six half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Cleo H., Dexter F., Hobert Olger, Fulton N., Delbert, George H., Ruby L., Jesse, Christine and Josephine.  He died at 2 months old in July 1913.
