Amos was born on September 14th, 1918 in Van Buren Co, TN.  Amos' father was Hosea McCormack and his mother was Anne Shockley.  His paternal grandparents were John Rudd McCormick and Sarah Elizabeth Baker. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Remus, Earl Haskell, Infant Daughter, Hozene and Anna Mae. He had two half-brothers named Hosea M. and Joe Ben.  He died at the age of 85 on October 30th, 2003 in Murfreesboro, Rutherford Co, TN.  He was buried on November 2nd, 2003 in Webb Cemetery, Bluff Springs, Warren Co, TN.
