C. A. was born on August 10th, 1884 in Carroll Co, TN.¹ C. A.'s father was Felix Monroe Abner Cary and his mother was Eliza E. Boyd. His paternal grandparents were Abner Henry Harrison Cary and Mary Ann Elizabeth Haywood. He had a brother and a sister, named James Azro and Azalee E.. He was the oldest of the three children. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Richard Frank, William Felix, Ether Lee, Hubert H., Leonard Ray, Eary Lee, Vera and Effie.¹
